Keyed In Security Services (Wigan)
PREVIOUS UPVC EXPERIENCE
Previously, I’d picked up some basic UPVC knowledge and wanted to undergo formal training. I searched extensively at various courses and enrolled on one I thought would provide all the answers to get started in UPVC. Although, after the course I felt that it didn’t clarify all the questions I was asking myself about the industry.
HOW DID YOU FIND OUT ABOUT THE COURSE
Then, I came across the MLA’s site and enrolled on their version of the course. I thoroughly enjoyed it and it was refreshing to see that the tutors were friendly and made the content easy to pick-up – especially with the good use of visual aids. For me, it also de-mystified the industry and I realised there’s a lot I didn’t actually know about UPVC.

BENEFITS AFTER COMPLETING COURSE
It’s greatly improved my business too. Not only am I competent in UPVC projects, I’ve also been able to transfer this knowledge to Composite Doors and train myself on these specialist jobs. I feel it’s genuinely great value too! When you think you also receive the training folder (worth £300!) it really helps with ongoing support! I constantly recommend the course to contacts and on the MLA’s forum and I even made some friends on the day too!
Mark Richards – AB Rooms (Hull)
For a long time, AB Rooms has worked closely with the MLA. In fact, two of my colleagues had recommended the UPVC course after enrolling themselves. They said they learnt a lot and this prompted me to see for myself the merits of the course.
GREAT FOR BEGINNERS
The best thing about it is, as an absolute beginner, it gave me complete confidence in UPVC work. So much so, I’m no longer turning down UPVC projects as I’m fully trained to carry out the work. What’s more, is within the first few weeks I’d made a return on the cost of the course and greatly improved the company’s revenue!

OFTEN REFER TO THE FREE COURSE GUIDE ON CALL OUTS
Another nice little touch is the free guide to refer too. Amazing to think it’s worth £300! – I often refer to it on call-outs looking at common faults. I think it’s great that it covers all the topics you need to know and so I often recommend the course to people in the trade.
