Below are MLA related training courses that took place at MLA Expo.
MLA Expo previously took place at the Telford International Centre from the 2nd to the 4th of October. Over the course of Expo over 40 training courses were on offer during the 3 days.
Course Tutor: Gary Eckersall
MLA President Gary Eckersall has been in the profession since leaving school at the age of 15yrs, serving an apprenticeship with HS Gillespie Locksmiths in Liverpool, he eventually bought the company and now runs 2 Locksmith businesses in Merseyside. Gary has been actively involved with the MLA for 20 years in various capacities including Chairman of the Association.
Gary is also heavily involved with the Technical and Training Committees of the Association, as well as being an MLA Tutor and inspector, and helping to improve the training modules and exams which are constantly changing. Whenever given the opportunity he is happy to pass on his knowledge to the members and students of the Association to promote the skill level of its membership.
Dates & Times of Course: Friday 2nd October, 12:00 – 14:00 (F8)
Course Duration: 2 Hours
This course is designed to clarify what is covered in the 4 part BLI exam. It provides useful hints and tips, thereby assisting those who are looking to take the exam in the near future, or can act as a refresher for anyone who has to re-take an element of the exam.
It will therefore provide;
- an overview of the written element
- tips on how to cut the key
- advice on opening the BS 5 lever lock as well as information on the fitting of the euro mortice lock.
(Book to obtain tickets – bookings made up to the 10th of September will have tickets sent to them, bookings thereafter will have tickets that can be picked up from the MLA stand at Expo)
